Profile
Amerika Mura (trendy district) Amerika Mura (known as “Amemura” to locals) is located west of Midosuji, just north of the Dotombori Canal. This is an area of narrow streets lined with shops that mainly appeals to 20-year-old fashionistas with strong trends in urban clothing and hip hop wear. It's a fun place to wander and there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, most of which welcome expats.
Den-Den Town (electronic shopping district) Like Tokyo's Akihabara electronics mall, Den-Den is the city's shopping street for electronics, cameras, computers, and pop culture. About a 10-minute walk southwest of Namba Station in Nippombashi, running roughly between Nippombashi and Ebisucho stations on the Sakaisuji subway line. Many of the shops here have English-speaking support staff, so don't be afraid to ask for help when looking for something.
Kamigata Ukiyo-e Museum Although small and unassuming, the Kamigata Ukiyo-e Museum in the heart of Dotombori is a gem for lovers of Japanese art. Fans of woodblock prints will find plenty of interest here.
