Dak Tuar cave has a very large area and large capacity, so during the years of the war against the US, the cave used to be a strategic location of the people of Dak Lak. The cave is where the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee is stationed and the main army units of the province. Based on the difficult terrain, the provincial Party Committee and our resistance agencies chose this place to be the headquarters to lead ethnic minorities in the province, unite in the resistance. The American empire repeatedly used bombers, organized many sweeps to destroy the resistance base, but all failed miserably.

In May 1965, from Dak Tuar Grottoes, the provincial Party Committee led the people of the H9 ethnic groups to rise up to break the enemy's yoke and liberate a large area of Krong Bong district. Since then, the Provincial Party Committee continued to lead the army and people in the province in the resistance war, liberating Buon Ma Thuot on March 10, 1975, opening the Great Spring Victory in 1975, the whole South, reunifying the country.

On August 3, 1991, Dak Tuar Stone Cave was recognized as a historical relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information.
