Profile
Pass the Baton was founded by Masamichi Toyama based on the concept of "Reusing old stuff". "The old one is the new one". The Toyama founder has access to a dazzling network of celebrities. As the name suggests, Pass the Baton is about transferring an item. So people - some famous, some not - contribute entries with private messages and pictures. You buy it and get the item and its cumulative lifespan Instead of focusing on high-end luxury items or low-priced items, the recycling store brings together items that reflect the owner's personality own their past and move them - along with their story - to a new home
A short walk from Shijo Station in Gion and the old part of Kyoto, Pass the Baton is housed in a 120-year-old wooden house on Gion Shirakawa Street. After visiting, admiring and shopping for unique items in the galleries, you can go to Tasuki tea room to enjoy deliciously prepared drinks, especially shaved ice green tea.
Because it's so popular, it's very crowded and you may have to wait an hour to get a seat. However, unlike other places where you have to wait in line, at Tasuki tea shop here, you can get a numbered ticket from the staff. After receiving the ticket, all you have to do is scan the QR code and Enter your email, then you will receive an email when it's your turn. The average waiting time is 1-2 hours, but it depends on the season and day. Therefore, I strongly recommend you to get your tickets in advance and visit while you wait. If there are not many people in line, you should spend time taking pictures by the river or on the bridge. It's a nice photo spot.
