Saken Seifullin is a poet and writer now celebrated as a pioneer of Kazakh literature. He also fought for the independence of Kazakhstan from the Soviet Union. He was executed and is today celebrated as a "martyr for freedom". In memory of this national hero, the Kazakh government built a small museum on Auezov Street in 1946 and officially opened its doors to visitors in 1988.

Saken Seifullin is known as a pioneer of modern Kazakh literature and famous political activist. He wrote controversial works calling on people to fight for the independence of Kazakhstan, free from the domination of power by the Soviet Union, and in the end he paid the price with his own life. Considered a “threat to society” and a “nationalist”, Seifullin was executed in Almaty, in 1939. In memory of this national hero, the Kazakh government built a small museum on Auezov Street in 1946 and officially opened its doors to visitors in 1988. The museum stores works, Saken Seifullin's photographs, documents and personal belongings, and also serves as a research center. Today, the museum is considered one of the "historical and spiritual centers of Kazakhstan."

Seifullin Museum includes an exhibition area with different periods in the life of the poet Saken Seifullin. All keep the memory of his artistic and creative labor process as well as his role in the cultural development and independence of Kazakhstan.

Saken Seifullin's life and social activities are further demonstrated through nearly 5,000 artifacts. Among the artifacts on display at the Museum, visitors can see photographs of Nina Mokina-His Muse, who aroused the poet's artistic creativity.

In addition to the mission of remembering a talented poet, a political activist of the nation and contributing to educating the next generation about a great talent of the nation, the museum also regularly organizes classes. , open discussion and various seminars for students, domestic and foreign students.

The museum is open weekdays from 10.00 AM to 06.00 PM. Entrance fee is KZT 200/pax, the museum supports an automatic audio English guide system for visitors.
