The museum was established under the government's "cultural heritage preservation" program and was officially opened on July 2, 2013. The exhibition space consists of 14 rooms with a total area of more than 14,000m2, including theme halls such as: Astana Hall, Kazakh Independence Hall, Golden Hall, Ancient and Medieval History Hall, History Hall, Ethnic Hall School, Modern Art Hall. Among them, the Golden Hall is the most special place because it houses thousands of Bronze Age decorations from the famous 'Golden Man' (the national symbol of Kazakhstan) - a 3rd or 4th century warrior. whose gold-covered remains were discovered in 1969.
