Profile
Established in 1945 under the direction of the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the People's Public Security Force has continually evolved, achieving numerous remarkable accomplishments in the mission of safeguarding the country. The People's Public Security Museum was established to honor the contributions of generations of officers and to educate future generations in patriotism, historical knowledge, and revolutionary spirit.
Since as early as 1950, the security sector began collecting documents and artifacts related to significant events and achievements of the force. By 1960, the Ministry of Public Security officially issued directives to develop museum work across the entire force, affirming that the museum serves as an ""open book"" on history, where every officer can learn in a practical way.
The museum was officially established in 1995 after years of preparation, and it opened to the public in 2000 to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the force's founding. Spanning over 3,000 square meters, the museum now holds nearly 20,000 artifacts, including 19 rare collections, guiding visitors through each historical period of the People's Public Security Force.
The Public Security Museum serves not only as a tourist destination but also as a place for research, conservation, and exhibition of historical artifacts. It regularly organizes thematic exhibitions and traditional education events. In addition, the museum supports local public security units in building traditional houses, contributing to the promotion of the People’s Public Security image throughout the country.
With the mission of preserving and promoting the legacy of the People's Public Security Force, the museum has received numerous prestigious awards from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It is not only a historical repository but also a space for history enthusiasts, those who wish to travel with purpose, exploring the values of freedom and the responsibility of ensuring national security.
