Hanoi Museum was established on February 4, 2009, and is operated under the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi. The museum officially opened in October 2010, coinciding with the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, marking a significant step in preserving and promoting the historical and cultural values of the capital.

The museum is located on Pham Hung Street, nestled among several prominent architectural landmarks in the city, such as the National Convention Center and the National Architecture and Planning Exhibition Center. With its modern and sophisticated design, Hanoi Museum stands out like a sparkling diamond, attracting visitors' attention from afar. The spacious area covers 50,000 m², featuring four above-ground floors and two underground levels, providing a spacious and comfortable environment for visitors.
