From the museum, visitors can see Bac Hung Hai canal on the opposite side.
The museum consists of seven interlocking funnel-shaped buildings, the outer walls are also carved with multi-layered patterns to form a unique work. The design is said to have been inspired by the ceramic turntable - a potter's signature tool. From another angle, the museum building resembles the image of a giant ancient pottery kiln of the ancient Bat Trang people. The work also makes the most of the ancient materials of Bat Trang Village such as traditional ceramic tiles, mosaic tiles, and fired tiles to bring the most realistic colors to the museum.
The museum includes an exhibition floor. The first floor is an area for artists to display their most famous valuable works, thereby connecting visitors with artisans. This is also the right place for activities and big events about ceramics. In addition, because the open space is very large, it is very suitable for large programs, events or traditional cultural festivals.
The 2nd and 3rd floors - the central area of Bat Trang Pottery Museum are the display areas for artistic ceramic products throughout the formation and development of Bat Trang pottery village, including glazed ceramics from ancient to modern. Modernity, development history and changes in color, shape and decorative motifs on ceramic products. This area gives visitors an overview of the history of the craft village.
The rooftop is an open-air theater with stages dedicated to events and performances. There will also be spaces for restaurants and cafes.
In addition to the idea of creating a space to display handicraft products of the craft village and connect traditional crafts, the museum is also expected to become a place to honor artisans in the village. The museum is considered as a traditional house, preserving and introducing all the cultural values of Bat Trang pottery village to visitors.
Although not officially put into operation, the museum has attracted many young people to visit because of its unique architecture. The museum is expected to be a new attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
