Special occasions go to special places, and Cossott'e SP in Azabu Juban is exactly the kind of restaurant you go for a hearty and important dinner.

The BBQ here isn't cheap, but the taste and quality of their wagyu is second to none. Wagyu' is often associated with Kobe beef outside of Japan, but the word literally just means 'Japanese beef. Once you arrive in Japan, you will realize that in the world of Wagyu there are many types of beef, not just Kobe beef.

At Cossott'e SP in Azabu Juban, they buy whole cows - always female and always the highest quality A5 grade wagyu - for use in their restaurant. That ensures that no part of the cow is left out and that everything is always fresh. You can eat the usual cuts of meat like kalbi (ribs) or filet mignon, and have a delicious meal. But we recommend branching out to other parts of the cow. There's an entire section on the menu dedicated to beef tongue; many people love the thick slices of blade dipped in salted sauce at this restaurant. Even the part of the tongue closest to the chin is a very rare part you should also try (if available). Many people love this dish! Don't forget to check the vegetables and pickles section of the menu. Grilled mushrooms are always delicious, as are whole garlic cloves roasted in oil. The chicken miso cabbage is also great for a snack in between waiting for your beef and vegetables to cook!

The price for a meal including wagyu grade A5 is of course not cheap. A plate of high-end beef tongue is ¥3490 or a plate of small kimchi is also about ¥550.

But surely, you will not regret for the excellent quality of food and service here.
