Resshi Shoyu Menkobo Sanku in Fukushima prefecture is a ramen shop with a very strange name. Luckily, the sardine ramen at this place is as impressive as its name suggests.
If you want to try as many different bowls of ramen as possible, you should put Resshi Shoyu Menkobo Sanku on your list of must-try restaurants. They serve up a unique and delicious shoyu sardine ramen that's worth the queue - at least, the locals definitely think so!
The thick, dark brown ramen broth is made from dried sardines, you might think: Oh that must be fishy! But no, despite its strong flavor, most people are surprised to find that it doesn't smell fishy at all. The pork loin here is interspersed with a moderate amount of fat combined beautifully with the thin, shiny noodles creating the attractiveness of the noodle bowl at first sight. Although there are often many lines here even on weekdays, the shop often runs out of noodles very quickly. Come early if you want to beat the lunch crowd.
