In Osaka and surrounding areas, the leaves start to change color around October. The peak of autumn colors usually comes in mid-November and you can usually see the color on the trees until mid-December. On average, the leaf season in Osaka lasts from October 15 to December 15, peaking around November 15.
Note that autumn colors are spectacular in nearby Kyoto and Nara. If you arrive early to see the leaves in Osaka, head to Kyoto, where the leaves will change color a little earlier.

1. Osaka Castle Park : The most convenient and attractive foliage place in Osaka is the spacious park surrounding Osaka Castle. This park, called Osaka-jo-koen in Japanese, has some amazing maple and ginkgo trees. The castle looks great looking through the colorful foliage.
2.Mino Falls : Located in northern Osaka Prefecture, about half an hour by train from central Osaka, this mountain park has the most beautiful foliage in Osaka. Walking along the river to the falls is a great way to spend an autumn day in Osaka.
3. Banpaku Memorial Park: An easy 30-minute ride from central Osaka, this spacious park makes for a great trip out of the city. The foliage in the park is amazing and the nearby Expo City dining and entertainment complex makes a fun highlight of the trip.
4. Midosuji Avenue: Osaka's "main street", this wide boulevard is lined with ginkgo trees that bloom brilliantly in the foliage season. While the street runs right through Honmachi (in Central Osaka), the best place to enjoy the colors along this street is along the stretch that runs through Minami.
