Profile
This market is famous as Kyoto's largest antique market and has more than 1000 stalls on the temple grounds, with a wide variety of antiques for sale. The word antique may sound a bit expensive, but many of the antiques sold on Tenjin Ichi are very cheap and many of the items are cute so you can easily visit the market.
There is a wide variety of items on sale, from tableware such as large teacups and plates to small odd-looking objects… there are things around that are sure to delight antique connoisseurs! You may find something even more unexpected than you think.
Some stalls also sell non-antiques such as second-hand clothes and plants, and there are even food stalls, just walking around can reveal a lot!
