Chaozhou Assembly Hall was built by the overseas Chinese community of Chaozhou state in 1845 with the purpose of worshiping the three Generals Ma Vien - a deity who conquers storms in Chinese beliefs, helping to travel and trade. Selling at sea is smooth sailing.

The façade of the assembly hall is elaborately built with large stone columns delicately carved with motifs such as: carp turning into dragon, phalaenopsis, four spirits, ..

The assembly hall is divided into two parts, the main hall in the front and the main hall in the back, in the middle is an open courtyard, connected to which is the place to receive guests, prepare offerings to make offerings on great occasions.

The main hall is divided into three compartments, the main structure is carved wooden columns and the main doors are carved with many paintings with auspicious meanings. The nave of the main hall has an altar with exquisitely crafted wooden structures imbued with Chinese culture.

Overall, Trieu Chau Assembly Hall is a sophisticated architectural work with a finely carved wooden frame, along with wooden motifs and decorations according to folk legends. In addition, there are also a number of porcelain embossed works on the roof banks, river banks, beautiful and sharp, showing the ingenuity of the artisans in the past and this is also a symbol of the richness of folklore of the Chaozhou Chinese overseas community.

Besides the value of spirituality, architecture, the assembly hall is also a place to store many artifacts of historical value of Hoi An ancient town.

Every year on the 16th day of the first lunar month, the assembly hall organizes a very solemn ceremony to worship Nguyen Tieu and the death anniversary of the ancestors with the participation of a large number of people of Trieu Chau origin in Hoi An and neighboring localities such as Da Nang, Hue, Quang Ngai.
