Britzer is a large garden located on the southern edge of Berlin. The Britzer Garden holds so much to explore, an ideal family getaway or a quiet escape from the busy city. With ten hectares including a lake, themed flower gardens such as the famous rose garden, playground, geological garden, witch garden invite visitors to walk around and enjoy. The wonderful outdoor laboratory hosts a permanent exhibition related to the animal and plant world.
Built in 1985 to bring nature to the people of the area, the Britzer garden, named after Britz Kiez, is located in the South Neuköln district. The park stretches over an area of 90 hectares with flower beds of all kinds such as roses and tulips planted everywhere. Additionally, a large stables, sheep, goats, donkeys, and ducks are on-site. People come here, especially at Easter, to admire the little sheep. Sometimes, visitors can even see swans or foxes in the garden.
Children will especially enjoy the large play area: there are glaciers and deserts, rocky and water landscapes that also promise exciting adventures.
During their summer vacation in Berlin, the young architects also expanded the Makunaima clay village for visitors. In the fall, the flower festivals often take place here attracting many locals and tourists to admire.
