Ca Na is favored by nature, anchovy season is from April to September. Each year catches more than 30,000 tons. Anchovies are fish with more protein than other fish and are suitable for making fish sauce. Anchovy fishing in Ca Na is convenient because it is caught close to the night and brought to Ca Na port and fermented in the same day, so the protein content is high.

Wooden crates for fish fermentation are usually made of wood from the pulp and wood of the tree. The wood is sawn into sheets 3 - 4 cm thick, 10-20 cm wide, soaked in water and sun-dried for 2-3 months until all the sap and wood does not warp later. Then, cut grooves, close together, in the middle of the wooden bars with the bark of Tram tree, when it meets water, it will expand, sealing the slots of the barrel. The box is lined with bamboo straps, each bamboo belt is made up of dozens of spokes, bundled, twisted and tied together to form large bamboo corn. Due to the high cost of making wooden crates, to increase production, most production facilities make cement and stainless steel tanks for incubation.
