Profile
Dubbed the green paradise of Antalya, Kursunlu waterfall is a unique place, where there is a waterfall connecting seven small lakes falling from a height of 18m in a green natural setting. This is one of the most attractive landscapes with lush trees and various picnic areas large and small in Antalya.
Kursunlu Falls is located on a vegetal rich terrain among pine trees, 19km from the center of Antalya. The waterfall is created by a 2km long gorge that falls from a height of 18m, where there are seven small lakes connected through small waterfalls forming a small pool, where freshwater turtles, crabs and fish live. The area has been open to visitors since 1986. The waterfall and picnic area, covering 33 hectares, offers a relaxed atmosphere with fountains, seating, grills and playgrounds.
Waterfalls plus the rich flora and fauna in the surrounding areas make it an ideal place for ecotourism activities such as nature walks, observing plant and animal life. A walk in Kursunlu Nature Park, amid a unique atmosphere scented with blackberries, wild roses and the scent of many other plants, can lead to encounters with rabbits, squirrels, woodpeckers, tortoises or other small animals.
The waterfall may not seem huge and amazing to some visitors, but the area by the stream is quite interesting in terms of the variety of plants. This area is known as the Plant Tunnel and attracts visitors by its flora except during the winter months. The unspoiled atmosphere and ravishing scenery have attracted many visitors to the natural park for daily recreational trips. There is a sightseeing terrace, playground, parking lot and other facilities for visitors.
Kursunlu Falls, managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Development, offers a visual feast for all visitors with endemic wildlife and plants.
