"3 Michelin stars, 18 Gault Millau points. Where German wine lovers come to enjoy"

Rutz is a heaven for wine lovers: a floor-to-ceiling wall with wine bottles lined up on shelves. The restaurant opened on an unflattering street in 2001 and slowly evolved over time, gaining 2 Michelin stars in 2017 and now owns 3 Michelin stars, awarded in 2020. Guests come to Rutz chat freely over glasses of wine and deli meats in the bar downstairs; Or enjoy wine and sophisticated dinner at the elegant taupe restaurant upstairs with an outdoor garden terrace.

Chef Marco Müller – a genuine Berliner always surprises diners with modern flavors that awaken the taste buds from local ingredients According to each season of the year. For example, smoked eel with koji sturgeon and juniper vinegar; or mussels with elderflower and fresh kohrabi fermented kohlrabi. The snack plates are arranged as inspired menus of six or nine courses. Sour desserts such as the tender shoots of lamb's lettuce with yogurt may not suit everyone's taste, but a glass of sweet Riesling at Rutz is sure to please every visitor.

Own an impressive collection of 50 per cent Riesling white wines from Austria and Germany out of a total of about 1000 choices of other wines recommended by wine expert Nancy Grossman for each dish and according to the taste of each person. Rutz is an ideal place for anything from a Berlin Philharmonic conductor discussing song choices with American soprano; to a group of wine-loving guests from Japan talking about the value of German wine; or a couple in their 50s taking the train to Berlin for the weekend to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Guests come here not only to enjoy delicious food and sip wine, but also for the intimate and sophisticated atmosphere.
