Step away from the modern high-rises to the old town of Römerberg, where all the streets are paved with cobblestones and the surrounding buildings are reconstructed in wood, with steep gable roofs and winch windows. stand like the original gothic old towns destroyed by bombing in 1944 during World War II.
The Römerberg is 75,000 square meters and is located between Cathedral Square and medieval Römer. On a sunny day, the colors of the pink, yellow, gray, blue, orange and red gingerbread houses come alive with the Fountain of Justice in the center. Facing the town hall (Römer) is the old Nikolai Church (Alte Nikolaikirche) on the left turn.
