Restaurant L'Atelier des Augustins

When you come to Lyon you expect only the best food and you are really disappointed if you choose the wrong restaurant. Tonight we were lucky enough to experience the best food. Our host booked the restaurant and we met them at the restaurant. Being in the back streets of Lyon makes it all the more appealing when you arrive and know nothing about the restaurant. I believe the front of the house for tonight at least, is owner and head chef Nicolas Guilloton. The restaurant is quite small, casual with a friendly atmosphere. Since we don't speak French, Nicolas talked us through the menu in English. Passion was clear. We chose to just go with a white wine and that was pure theater as our host and chef discussed what would be best for our food choices. We had a great night with good company, and enjoyable meal with exceptional and excellent service, thank you chef.
