Since 1994, Christopher Street Day has been regularly held in Zürich to fight against discrimination and for the rights of the LGBT + community (LGBT + stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). gender, plus all other sexual orientations and genders).
In 2009, Zürich hosted Europride, causing Christopher Street Day to be renamed the Zürich Pride Festival.
Every year, Zürich Pride draws international crowds with its colorful LGBT booths, fantastic shows, dance parties and other fun activities.
Every June, the Sechseläuten festival venue on Sechseläutenplatz square and next to Bürkliplatz is transformed into a party hotspot where not only members of the LGBT+ community are welcome – all other attendees are also welcome. invited to come and have fun. The highlight of the Zürich Pride festival is the parade and concerts by local and international artists on Kasernenareal.
The festival is usually held on 2 days of the 3rd week of every June.
