Learn to make chocolate at Lindt & Sprüngli

According to the Swiss Chocolate Manufacturers Association, there are 18 chocolate producers within the Swiss borders, and on average, each resident in Switzerland consumes about 12kg of chocolate annually. This speaks to the popularity of Swiss chocolate's quality and taste among locals and international visitors.

Sign up for a chocolate-making class for the day at the Lindt & Sprüngli headquarters in Kilchberg near Zürich. To start, participants will be given a set with a pastry chef coat, apron and hat to use during the workshop. After a little introduction to the company Lindt's short history. Tasting chocolate while studying is ideal for families, couples and all chocolate fans.

A two-hour class where students will learn to make champagne truffles and pralines. Everyone has a prep table with buckets of melted chocolate, including white, dark, and milk chocolate. Students will fill the truffle shell with hot chocolate ganache and champagne. While waiting for the ganache to cool, participants will be given an extra tray of pralines for them to decorate with their favorite content, using paper cones with almonds or gold slices. Next, students return to truffles and fill them with another layer of chocolate.

Classes are easily accessible from Zürich, just 15 minutes by train from the city center.
