Profile
Hanoi Rock City (HRC Hanoi) is not just a live music venue—it’s a cultural space that nurtures creativity through music, art, and community. Founded in 2010, Hanoi Rock City has grown into a creative hub in Hanoi, inspiring artists and audiences alike.
Founded by four Vietnamese students who studied in the UK, Hanoi Rock City emerged from a passion for art, culture, and contemporary music. They wanted to build a home for new and alternative sounds in Hanoi, and today, HRC Hà Nội is one of the city’s most iconic art venues.
HRC Hanoi serves as a collaborative ground for both Vietnamese and international musicians, artists, and curators to exchange ideas and create new works. It also provides a launching pad for emerging Vietnamese talents to perform, grow, and connect with wider audiences.
Events at Rock City Hanoi cover a wide musical spectrum—from indie, heavy metal, dubstep to electronic and swing jazz. Alongside music, HRC hosts exhibitions, comedy nights, and talk shows, all curated to deliver authentic artistic value and audience engagement.
Hanoi Rock City connects local audiences with international acts, creating a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. Whether you’re attending a live show or visual art event, HRC Hanoi offers a unique, immersive cultural experience.
Initially, 90% of HRC’s audience were expats, as rock music had not yet gone mainstream in Vietnam. Today, about 60% are young Vietnamese eager to play rock, enjoy craft beer, and share the latest tunes at Rock City Hanoi.
Whether you’re into death metal, indie rock, or trip hop, a visit to Hanoi Rock City is a must when in Hanoi. With live shows inspired by everything from gloomcore textures to vibrant electronic beats, HRC Hanoi remains one of Vietnam’s top creative arts venues.
