Bach Dinh was built from 1898 to 1902, as a resort for the Governor General of Indochina, later for Emperor Bao Dai and the Vietnamese Presidents. In particular, this place is also the place where the French colonial government used to house King Thanh Thai from 1907 to 1916, a king with anti-French patriotic thoughts. Currently, Bach Dinh is also a miniature museum, which displays decorative interiors from the reign of King Bao Dai and an extremely valuable collection of Qing Dynasty ceramics, antiques taken from sunken ships in Vietnam.
