This mansion was built by legendary Japanese actor Okochi Denjiro, who is famous for his samurai roles in pre-war period dramas. It is said that he spent half of his life building it. This 20,000㎡ villa with tea houses and magnificent temples sits on a hill that was once a wasteland.
Located between Arashiyama Park (Kameyama) and the southeast side of Mount Ogura, this villa blends into the beautiful natural scenery from the east (Kyoto city to Mount Hiei) to the west (Hozu valley), and The view from here is breathtaking.
