Ocean headlights potential Northern medicine.
Ocean Headlights is a cute name for a humpback fish's eye. Humpback fish has been fished a lot by fishermen in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen since 1994 when Korean and Japanese customers ordered it (The fish is too big, so the net is broken when you hit the net - sell the boat). Gourd fish exports only the fish body (must remove the head and intestines). Local people take advantage of these parts and processing skills to get some famous specialties of Phu Yen and some central provinces such as Binh Dinh, Quang Nam .... such as: Tuna eyes with Northern medicinal herbs, Tuna stomach salad.
Those who like to eat fish heads know that fish eyes are quite delicious. Humpback's eye is no exception, it's just as big as a floodlight - that's why they call "love" Ocean Headlights. Each eye weighs about 200 -300 g. To have this dish requires the chef to be very good, because from fish eyes they have made a (delicious) dish for many people to enjoy and love.
The ankle must be removed the blood veins and soaked, washed with salt water diluted to reduce fishy (wash with alcohol - slightly wasted). Fish eyes are cooked with many spices such as lemongrass, black pepper, chili, purple onion along with some Chinese herbs: such as jujube, red apple, angelica, dong quai, y y y, goji berries,... ( These herbs do not tonic on the vertical, but also on the width, the gentleman eats in vain to make the lady happy). Any dish that involves fish should be eaten hot to reduce the fishy taste. So the “ocean floodlight” is placed in a small bowl (fits and looks nice). When eating, the bowl is heated with alcohol (Greek - new hot and better than the Lao one) on top sprinkled with a few stalks of cilantro, a few stalks of chopped onions. This dish is eaten with perilla leaves, mustard greens (chopped) mixed in a bowl. This dish depends on the taste of each person. In my opinion, you should enjoy - experience for life with "pleasure".
A foreign tour guide about Vietnam's street food that wants to entice visitors to experience "fancy" street food says (roughly like that): “If you have a little bit of blood, you will discover it. the world of Vietnamese street food”.
Arriving in Tuy Hoa, visit Ba Tam restaurant – 279-289-293 Le Duan. This shop has been selling this dish for over 20 years. The shop sells from 10:00 to 21:00. The price before the epidemic is 40,000 d/pot "The headlight of the Northern medicine".
How long is life indifferent!
