The Yıldız area was once a forest in Byzantine times. Beginning during the reign of Sultan Süleyman, the kings made it their hunting ground. In the centuries that followed, it remained as a forest behind the seaside palaces.

In the early 17th century, the site was owned by the daughter of Sultan Murad IV and later by Mehmed Pasha, brother of Damat İbrahim Pasha in the 18th century. Yıldız Park was once part of the royal garden. of the Yıldız Palace. Stretching down the slopes from the palace, this walled park was exclusively reserved for palace residents during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II.

Yıldız Park, once again comes to life with the Çırağan Palace and the bridge built between the palace and the plantation. The neighborhood began to flourish after the palace was built in the 19th century. It takes its name from the first pavilion, namely Yıldız Kasrı, commissioned by Sultan Selim III in the early 19th century.

The palace's outer garden is 25 acres (0.10 km2) surrounded by high walls and is separated from a grove of trees during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II in the 19th century. An artificial lake Small pavilions, summer houses and a porcelain factory were established in this area.

Today, Yıldız park is a beautiful garden complex set in a very large park of flowers, plants and ancient trees, gathered from all over the world dating back to Ottoman times. The park grounds have panoramic views of the Bosphorus. The park is a popular picnic spot especially for the weekends. Two beautiful old houses, the Çadır pavilion and the Maltese pavilion, were used for rest, tea, breakfast and lunch.

The park is divided into two parts, the outer part is open to the public and includes the pavilions of ale, Çadır and Malta and the still operating Yıldız porcelain factory. The park's vegetation includes magnolia, bay leaf, Judas tree, silver ironwood, and horse chestnut. In addition, the park also planted a lot of oak, cypress, pine, yew, cedar and ash trees. Besides, the outer part has two artificial lakes.

One of two historic houses in Yıldız Groves. It was built in the backyard of Çırağan Palace for daily visits. After the founding of the Republic, it was closed for a long time. Today, it is open to the public.

The Malta Pavilion is said to have been built during the Abdülaziz period and has a stunning view. It was restored by keeping its original shape. Visitors can still see the splendid decorations on the ceiling. Malta and the Çadır Pavilions in the park were restored in 1979 and a covered cafe "Pembe Sera" was built.
