Profile
Located on the Asian side of Istanbul, Bagdat Street has a length of about 9km, starting from Bostanci neighborhood and extending to Goztepe neighborhood of Kadikoy district. Its name comes from the battle of Baghdad, when the Ottoman leader Sultan Murad IV was on his way back. Bagdat Street became one of Istanbul's most elite streets during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamit II.
According to a study conducted by a French company, Bagdat Street has been ranked as the 4th best shopping street in the world.
The area around the street is also an area of settlement for the rich in Istanbul. There are also some very nice mansions around this area.
You can find countless chic cafes, new generation modern cafes, restaurants and shops along the streets. Many bars, pubs and clubs also provide great nightlife to enjoy a lively night out in Istanbul.
The most convenient way to reach Bagdat Street is by taking the Marmaray train.
