Rawai Beach gives you the most authentic experience of the daily life of locals in Phuket. Fishermen build boats and mend their nets, while others work on fishing boats. The beach's fresh, peaceful atmosphere is the main attraction for visitors.
Rawai Beach is not a beach for sunbathing or swimming in Phuket. This is the main anchorage for the boats going out to the surrounding islands. Along the shoreline there are signposts and boat rentals. All you can do on the beach is sit back and enjoy the beautiful views and cool fresh air.
Rawai Beach is full of restaurants and eateries. Must-try dishes when coming to Rawai include sticky rice, grilled chicken, grilled fish and crab. You can also drink at the many bars along the beach while enjoying great southern views of Koh Bon and Koh Racha. Rawai also has a seafood market in the Sea Gypsy village located at the east end of the beach.
Heading towards Chalong you will find Evason Phuket Resort, a luxury venue with fine dining. Further afield is the popular Friendship Beach, a great resort where you can relax in the afternoon with snacks and a swim in the on-site pool.
