Overview

This STEM lesson explores two exciting science topics: chemical reactions and surface tension, through hands-on experiments and practical applications. In the first part, students will observe the phenomenon of fizzing in oil and water when dropping a fizzing tablet into it, thereby understanding the chemical reaction that creates gas. They will then apply this principle to make their own bath bombs, a popular product in life. In the second part, students will learn about surface tension through experiments with milk and soap, thereby recognizing how detergents affect water molecules. The application activity is to create watermarks, helping students combine science with art.
The lessons not only help students understand scientific phenomena but also train their observational thinking, practical skills, teamwork and creativity. Through a hands-on approach, students will find science more familiar and interesting, while developing environmental awareness when using safe materials.
