It would be a pleasure to be your local host, to show you around making sure you get the most out of your visit. As a traveler myself, I don´t like "out of the can" solutions for touring around....and that is why I offer tours that are different; fun as well as interesting. I have been working as a guide for more than 15 years, and I have now set up my base between Madrid (Spain) and Santorini Island (Greece). I am privileged in that I can enjoy the best of a great cultural city, such as Madrid, and also relax & admire the beauty of a Greek island... I am therefore specialized in “feeling the places as a visitor, with the insight of a local” I invite you to discover and feel the meaning of Mediterranean culture. My Background, Licenses and certificates I am an experienced guide with a very strong academic and professional background and have been in the tourism industry since the 90s. I had a bilingual education, both school and university, providing me with great communication skills as well as an instinct for adapting to different cultures and environments. My passion for travel was born when as a teenager I took part on several exchange programs to the UK and the USA. Since then I have continued to travel throughout the years. I was born and raised in Barcelona and then moved to Madrid. I attended a French primary and secondary school and then I moved again, this time to London. I studied BA International Business and French in London and I spent my Erasmus year in Paris. As I have itchy feet, that wasn´t enough and I moved to Greece where I started working as a guide and became a professional Tour Leader. I have attended workshops, seminars and courses related to business and cultural subjects, obtaining several certificates and diplomas, including recently the certificate from the “Comunidad de Madrid” for guides.

Whilst Madrid is notorious for its lively nightlife it can’t compete with the wonders of Andalucia and other parts of Spain when it comes to specific festivals. The main annual event is San Isidro which celebrates the city’s patron saint and there are other fiestas specific to Madrid such as Dos de Mayo and Almudena but these won’t be particularly noteworthy for the foreign visitor when compared with the better known fiestas of Spain which have earned international acclaim. Madrid is a great city to visit at any time of year so you don’t need to plan your visit according to specific festivals. I will tell you all about the customs and festive activities in Madrid, and take you to join one if your visit happens to be on time with one of the festivals.

Wide avenues are congested with traffic, but beautiful parks break up the urban sprawl. Madrid doesn't have the traditional charm of Andalusia or the beauty of Barcelona, instead, it offers exciting atmosphere. The city is constantly buzzing with activity and there are so many things to see and do that you will be spoiled for choice. Whether exploring the Madrid’s world-class art museums, gazing at architectural marvels while sipping a café con leche at a sidewalk café or rollicking the night away at tapas bars along on the Gran Vía, the many attractions in Madrid are simply captivating. The architecture in Madrid reflects the city's history as one of the great European capitals. The architecture of Madrid has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighbourhoods and streets, even though Madrid possesses a modern infrastructure. Its landmarks include the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Royal Theatre with its restored 1850 Opera House, the Buen Retiro Park (founded in 1631), the 19th-century National Library building (founded in 1712) and the Golden Triangle of Art located along the Paseo del Prado and comprising three art museums: Prado Museum, the Reina Sofía Museum, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. Cibeles Palace and Fountain have become the monument symbol of the city. The architecture of Madrid is influenced by a number of styles from various historical periods and European cultures such as Italian, Austrian and French.
