“The most famous beach in Busan. The white sand beach is about 1.5km long on an area of 30-50 meters wide, creating a beautiful coastline in front of a shallow bay, ideal for swimming.”

One of Busan's most beautiful beaches is the coast of Haeundae District in eastern Busan. The amazing allure of this sandy shoreline has resulted in incredible growth over the past few decades; the beach is now bordered by the crescent shape of super skyscrapers such as Haeundae LCT The Sharp and Haeundae Doosan We've the Zenith, both over 300 meters high. Haeundae Beach is an arc of pale sand 1.5 km long, unlike other major beaches in Busan, it faces south, opens to the south wind and produces rolling waves as high as 1, 5 meters, breaking apart in this low bay. During the summer, Haeundae Beach hosts a variety of festivals and events, such as the sand sculpture festival in June and the city-wide Busan Sea Festival in August.

Just behind Haeundae beach, the Pusan International Film Festival is held during the first week of October. The Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) started in 1996, is a joint venture. The first film festival took place in Korea. PIFF is currently the largest film festival in Korea and is known to be one of the most dynamic film festivals in the world, making it the biggest film festival in Asia. In recent years, PIFF has attracted more than 1100 film professionals and 400 film companies. Another notable feature is the festival's appeal to young people, both in terms of the large young audiences it attracts and through its efforts to develop and promote young film talent. PIFF usually takes place in October, and during the festival, Haeundae comes alive with movie screenings, parties and lots of stars of Asian cinema in attendance.

Haeundae Beach is a very busy spot in the summer, and is home to the Busan Aquarium - the largest in the country, right in the middle of a 2km stretch of sand. In addition to swimming and water sports, Haeundae is also famous for its many cultural events and festivals held year-round. At Haeundae Beach there is a Folk Square, where visitors can participate in traditional games such as neoldduigi (jumping saw), Korean wrestling, tuho (arrow throwing), tug of war, and yutnori (a board game). Korean traditional table). Dongbaek Park occupies a ledge to the west of the beach that is also a pleasant place to walk.
