Completed in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge, with its Gothic arches and cables, was the world's first iron suspension bridge and inspired generations of poets, musicians and painters. From the bridge, visitors can see beautiful views of Manhattan, the East River and even the Statue of Liberty.
The best way to visit this bridge is to walk across the bridge. On the bridge there is a separate lane just for pedestrians and cyclists located above the roadway. It takes about an hour to walk to the end of the bridge. Or, visitors can just go to the first pillar, where the viewing area is located.
Alternatively, cycling across the bridge is a good choice. However, because bicycles share the road with pedestrians, on busy days cycling can be difficult.
