At first, Tuyen Lam Lake was called Quang Trung Lake, and was built in 1982, to supply water for agriculture, Tuyen Lam Lake was renamed in 1987 to reflect the confluence of streams, forests, and mountains. In 1998, the lake was recognized as a national Historical – Cultural Monument, highlighting part of the unique cultural values of Da Lat.
