Many of them are among the most sought-after by collectors, originating from the waters of the sea. Phuket of Thailand. It is a popular tourist attraction and is suitable for both adults and children."

The museum is located in the basement of a large building, it has 4 main exhibitions, all with information in both English and Thai. First opened in 1997, the museum is home to shells from about 2,000 different species. It's all the effort and passion of the museum's owner, Somchai Patamakanthin and his brothers. They have spent the last 3 or 4 decades building a huge collection. Somchai has now passed on his passion to his son Jom, who has become one of Thailand's top seashell collectors.

Among the impressive collections of the seashell museum are noble bangles made from a heavy type of seashell with various patterns. There are also some rare items including the world's largest golden pearl (140 karats), large sedimentary rocks containing shell fossils representing the earliest life forms on earth and a shell weighing up to 250 kg.

On the ground floor, there is a wide variety of interesting souvenirs and gifts to try. If you're looking for seashell items, look no further as the museum's gift shop is Phuket's largest. Products include carved seashells for home decoration, shell jewelry, keychains, clamshell mobile phones and many other seashell art crafts.
