The 136m long bridge attracts 80,000 visitors per year

In 1888, the Scottish architect bought a piece of forest on the north bank but there was no way to get to the other side of him, so he and two natives built a bridge out of hemp and cedar. . This is the cause of the formation of the bridge.

Later, the bridge was replaced with metal and completely rebuilt to get the current condition. Beneath the bridge is the ever-flowing Capilano River, flanked by massive forests that give visitors both excitement and fear when moving.

Capilano Suspension Bridge can withstand the weight of 1,300 people standing on the bridge at one time. However, every step visitors take will cause the bridge to sway and this activity is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights.
