With a diverse mix of genres and works, from symphony orchestras and ballet to famous Broadway productions, the Smith Center has become Las Vegas' premier performing arts venue.

Before the Smith Center opened, Las Vegas was one of the largest cities in the country without a performing arts center. Performances here are mostly held at luxury resorts, and almost none are provided by an independent centre.

Plans were originally conceived for a new center around 1994 with $150 million raised by the Donald W. Reynolds foundation, which is considered the second largest donation to the performing arts in history. USA. The Smith Center officially opened on March 10, 2012, named after Fred and Mary Smith who were the presidents of the Reynolds foundation and his wife, the largest benefactors.

The center was designed by architect David M. Schwarz with an elegant and timeless design using the iconic inspiration of the Hoover Dam. Indiana white limestone and 1920s motifs including the winged sculpture in the lobby modeled on the famous winged Republic statues of the Hoover Dam are featured throughout the center for the above designs. At the corner of the more than 100,000 square meter building is a 17-story tower with 47 bells, providing a new focal point for the downtown skyline. Acoustic design firm Akustiks worked with architects Schwarz to ensure optimal sound quality in all concert halls and theaters, installing advanced audio technology features that can automatically reflect or absorb sound based on the type of representation.

The great hall of the Smith Center serves as the gateway to the rest with its beautiful 5000 square meter space. Elegant chandeliers up to 6m high dazzle from above, while beautiful sculptures and authentic Italian stone adorn the walls.

Myron's Cabaret Jazz is the Smith Center's unique live music venue with up to 244 seats. It regularly features singers from Las Vegas and Broadway's most popular shows and a unique view of the Symphony Park.

Reynolds Hall is the largest theater in the Smith Center with a capacity of up to 2,050 seats complete with a beautiful balcony, dramatic stage, full orchestra, 5 floors of private audience as a backdrop. elegance. In addition to serving as a world-class performance space, the stage can be rented out for an elegant dinner, a special meeting, wedding, etc.

Troesh Studio Theater is the most flexible space at the center with customizable lighting, simple 200 seats. This space is suitable for rehearsals, performances, children's theatre, corporate meetings, movie screenings, community events, weddings and private social gatherings.

Far from being a building, this $470 million world-class performing arts center represents a cultural and community core for the nearly two million people living in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada, realizing a lifelong dream. It is about bringing together and uniting entire communities, enabling institutions to flourish artistically and institutionally, and incubating new artistic endeavors and excellence.
