Kazakh Eli Monument (Monument Kazakh Eli)

Located in the center of the capital on Independence Square, the Kazakh Eli monument is a fairly new architectural work of the capital Nursultan. It is a vertical column, built on a quadrangular white marble base. Around the bedrock area are reliefs depicting major events in the history of the independent Republic of Kazakhstan. The monument is 91 meters high, corresponding to the year 1991, the year of independence and unification of the territory of Kazakhstan

The Kazakh Eli monument is not only a symbol of sovereignty but also a reflection of the traditional culture and history of this beautiful, mysterious Central Asian country. Especially, the image of the sacred bird Samruk, sitting on the top of the memorial, represents the aspirations for sustainable development and progress of the Kazakh people. The designer of this bird, Sembigali Smagulov, sent the sketch to Hebei (China), where talented artisans created a bronze masterpiece and sent it back to the capital Nursultan to place it on top. of the country's iconic 91-meter-high column top.
