Ho Quoc Pagoda, also known as Truc Lam Ho Quoc Zen Monastery, was officially inaugurated on December 14, 2012.
Although belonging to the Truc Lam Zen sect, Ho Quoc Pagoda has some differences with Truc Lam Yen Tu and Truc Lam Da Lat. The pagoda has a special position with its back leaning against the mountain, facing the sea, built according to the architecture of the Ly and Tran dynasties with the internal architectures all made of monolithic ironwood. The total area of the temple campus is about 110 hectares and is constantly being renovated and built.
Ho Quoc Pagoda consists of the main items: Dai Hung Bao Dien, Ancestral House, Bell Tower and Drum Tower. To enter the temple, visitors must first go through the Tam Quan gate consisting of three gates: the Dai Giac gate in the middle, the Bat Er gate on the left and the Liberation door on the right. Through the entrance, visitors will encounter a unique dragon staircase with 70 steps, on each side of the stairs are 9 statues representing the Han dynasties, the middle part of the stairs is carved with delicate dragon and lotus images. . In the temple yard, there is a very lively and soulful monolithic marble Buddha statue, which is one of the outstanding highlights of the pagoda.
From Ho Quoc Pagoda, visitors will get a panoramic view of the immense ocean and surrounding mountains. Perhaps that's why the pagoda is one of the most beautiful places to watch the sunrise and sunset in Phu Quoc.
Today, Ho Quoc Pagoda is one of the famous attractions of Phu Quoc because of its ancient, majestic architecture and beautiful scenery. Visitors coming here can both enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and admire the majesty of nature.
