Willis Tower SkyDeck

Standing on the building's Skydeck and seeing the city from above is one of the must-see experiences when coming to Chicago.

Before 1996, when Petronas Tower was built in Kuala Lumpur, the 110-storey Sears Tower, now renamed Willis Tower, was once the tallest office building in the world.

Willis Tower building opened in 1974 after 3 years of construction. The building is 1,453 ft (443 m) tall with a Skydeck observation deck on the 103rd floor, 1,353 ft (412 m) above the ground. Here, visitors can stand in a glass cage with glass doors, also known as The Ledge, located outside of the Skydeck to watch the surrounding landscape. On clear days, visitors can see the city of Chicago from above, and zoom in 40-50 miles (64-80km) and see the 4 neighboring states.

In addition, the building also has exhibitions and short videos introducing the history of the building.

Visitors should buy tickets before arrival. Tickets can be purchased on the official Willis Tower website
