Da Ban Stream is an ideal place to visit in Phu Quoc, located in the north of the pearl island. Visitors hearing the name of the stream for the first time may feel very strange, but it seems that there is something familiar in the strange because the name is quite rustic.
The name "Suoi Da Ban" makes those who hear it for the first time feel curious. Why is it called Suoi Da Ban? The reason the stream has such a name is because this area has large and flat stones like a table surface, so the people here call it Da Ban stream. According to legend, these stones are the place where fairies often sit and bathe every time they come to earth. Phu Quoc is famous for its 99 mountains stretching from North to South, of which Ham Ninh is the longest and highest mountain range. Da Ban Stream originates from here.
This area is still wild, visitors to the stream are mainly locals and young people who like to explore nature to find a picnic place during the day. In front of the entrance to the stream, there is a small gate that says "Phu Quoc Da Ban Resort", you park your car here, walk across the cable-stayed bridge and then continue for about 15 minutes to reach the stream.
Originating from Ham Ninh mountain range, Phu Quoc Da Ban Stream goes through a long way through the mountains before settling downstream. The stream is not steep but flows endlessly, flowing through the undulating stone tables meticulously honed by the murmuring water all year round, the higher you go, the more spacious the area around Phu Quoc Da Ban Stream. Small waterfalls, swimming pools gather to form an area of moderate depth, becoming an ideal place to cool off in the midst of wild nature.
In the dry season, the stream is gentle with low water level, you can easily walk in the middle of the stream, looking at the fun rock works. In the rainy season, the stream and Da Ban waterfall in Phu Quoc become strong, fast-flowing, and white foam.
Da Ban Stream with large flat stones is very suitable for tourists to camp, order food, drink parties. You can bathe in the cool, clear blue water under the murmuring waterfall. In general, tourists stop at the flat rock to play, so few people take the trouble to see the highest waterfall here, because it's a bit risky. Coming to Da Ban Stream in the rainy season, you have to be very careful to avoid slipping and falling because the water here is very deep and fast flowing.
