A quiet coastal fishing village is given a new coat by more than 100 artworks on the sides of houses painted by artists.

In the past, Tam Thanh was like many other coastal villages, while nearby Hoi An was flooded with tourists and the economy flourished, Tam Thanh was still quiet and poor. But today, thanks to the joint cooperation between Vietnam and Korea, this sleepy fishing village has turned into an official tourist destination.

In 2016, a program supported by the Korean Community Arts Exchange Program and the Vietnam People's Committee of Quang Nam Province was established with the aim of creating “Art for a Better Community” . Accordingly, more than a dozen artists of Korean and Vietnamese origin spent two weeks creating one hundred paintings on the walls, fences and facades of houses in the village.

The project was a success and the village was brought to life by paintings, which is now an open-air gallery.

Tam Thanh mural village is located about 45 km south of Hoi An, visitors can come here by many different means such as taxi, bus,... The murals depict family, nature, and literature. as a source of energy for this village. Their colorful colors seem to attract visitors to constantly explore. One of the real highlights here are the incredibly realistic portraits of the local residents who still live in the village.

In addition, Tam Thanh mural village also has a beautiful beach on the other side of the houses, which is an ideal place to take pictures, swim and relax.

A note for tourists when coming here to visit is that this is still a place where monks live and work, people should avoid making noise and disturbing local people.
