To the southwest of the walls and a short walk from the old town of Kaleiçi is a park perched on the cliffs with views of the Bay of Antalya – Karaalioglu park. Here you can take a leisurely stroll, sip Turkish tea under the pines and stop on the main terrace for views of the Mediterranean and the silhouetted Bey Mountains.
Karaalioglu Park has many cafes as well as a children's playground and several major landmarks such as the mayor's office, the city theater and the historic Hıdırlık Tower. In this park you can also see the room fortress. The coastal capital in the northwest corner, was a Roman military base from the 2nd century, topped by an Ottoman-style cylindrical tower.
The park, on the cliffs, one of the city's most remarkable natural beauties, is established on an area of 140 thousand square meters. Karaalioğlu Park has a wide variety of trees, plants and birds that reflect the Antalya flora. Inside the park there are three parallel east-west streets that end with three terraces overlooking the sea.
Karaalioglu Park is located right next to the four-season snow-capped Beydağları range, the Antalya Bay in front, the soothing sound of boats opening from the marina to the Mediterranean Sea and the splendid colors of the sunset of one of the cities. The most magical city in Turkey. And it's no surprise that many Antalya residents and tourists choose the park as an end-of-day stop to admire the beautiful sunset.
