Profile
The name of this bar is based on Velveteen Rabbit, a children's novel published in 1922, about a stuffed rabbit who wants to be a real person, but can only do so. It is through the love of the owner.
Velveteen Rabbit owns a classic, mysterious space with simple decoration, comfortable couches and soft lighting.
Behind the bar, 12 taps of draft beer with a rotating selection are decorated by mannequin hands that are both decorative and mysterious. Velveteen Rabbit's drink menu is presented in the form of an ever-changing music-themed magazine, featuring photographs by Peter McDeal and Shahab Zargari, visual art by Daniel Ayala, Narble Art and Lauren Ashley, and excerpts from old Colombian radio plays translated into English by Gigi Guizado. The bar offers diners creative, slightly eccentric craft drinks. The cocktails themselves are named after different songs such as the Pictures of You which is a cocktail with ingredients of gin, cucumber, lavender and black pepper or the Miserlou rum cocktail (a song in praise of the music). Dick Dale's tools of the same name) include jalapeño aguardiente and coconut milk.
A special drink that only appears on Velveteen Rabbit's winter menu is Other Husband - made up of plum brandy, Pasubio Amaro, orange juice and lemon meringue.
Besides, Velveteen Rabbit also serves light side dishes. On a cooler weekend, diners can enjoy DJ performances or explore their outdoor patio for some fresh air.
