Taichung Park is an urban park located in the northern part of Taichung city. This is the city's oldest park, it was built during the Japanese colonial period and is also known as "Zhongshan Park". The park has a spacious and airy space and an amusement and entertainment area inside, so this is an ideal place for you to choose to relax after a day of exploring Taichung city.

Built during the Japanese colonial rule in 1903, Taichung Park is the city's oldest. In 1999, the Taichung city government made a decision to recognize Taichung Park as a national historical site and one of the eight major scenic spots of Taiwan. Located in the center of Taichung city, the park is a familiar place not only for city dwellers but also for tourists to relax after a day of visiting Taichung. The most outstanding feature is a panoramic view of the green Chinese garden located on the premises, giving you a special feeling of being immersed in peaceful nature in the heart of the bustling city.

The park has an artificial lake with an area of ​​​​about 13,530 square meters. The Mid-Lake Pavilion, located next to the lake, was built in 1908 in memory of Japanese Prince Kanin Kotohito, who was invited to lead the inauguration of the complete closed railway system held in Taichung. Culturally, Mid-Lake Pavilion is a blend of Western architectural techniques and traditional Japanese teahouse concepts. Structurally, it is a Western architecture, but the conical roof is derived from the space where the Japanese chat over tea. There are even stone windows that look like half-open crocodile eyes.

The arch bridge opposite the Mid-Lake Pavilion was once a relatively flimsy wooden bridge. Over time, the bridge was eroded by water, today it is restored with stone and the arches have been widened and increased in height, so visitors can experience boating across the lake. these archways, a beautiful view and you will surely have beautiful virtual live pictures. Or you can just go kayaking and immerse yourself in a beautiful green space.

Taichung Park is also a number one choice for small families because of its many recreational facilities, such as a large playground, outdoor performance stage and tennis court. The park has hundreds of dense, luxuriant old trees, and is home to birds, squirrels..., this has created an extremely lively ecosystem.

With a large space and beautiful natural scenery, Taichung Park has always attracted locals and tourists from all over the world. Taichung Park has also hosted the annual China Lantern Festival Exhibition for many years.
