You will set off to the forest safely to observe the native brown bear in their natural environment, close to the Russian border in Kuusamo. Embrace the classic Finnish pastime of getting closer to nature as you stay overnight in a cabin. The next day, after breakfast, you will spend time in Oulanka National Park to enjoy hiking and a Lappish barbecue lunch by the campfire.

About 1,500 – 2,000 brown bears live in the vast forests of Finland. A mature male brown bear can weigh up to 300 kilograms. If you walk into the forests of Finland, it is almost impossible to encounter with the brown bears. Although they may also appear anywhere in mainland Finland, they usually avoid contact with humans at all costs. The virgin forests of eastern Finland are the best choice to meet them!

During the activity, you can observe safely from a wooden cabin, to see how the bears live and eat in the forest. On the second day of this trip, the guide will take you to one of the most iconic national parks in Lapland "Oulanga Rapids" to hike, pick forest berries and mushrooms. (Note: berries and mushrooms types can vary depending on the season of your travel dates, the amount can be a lot less if you are traveling in late autumn time).

• At least 4 people are required for this tour to take place on Sundays and public holidays.
• Children under 14 year old must be accompanied by adults paying full price attending the same trip.
• Please be ready and wait at your hotel lobby 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time.
• Infant under 3 is complimentary.
• Product may be canceled or rescheduled if the group size is smaller than 2 persons on the selected date.
• Please do not bring any food or snacks with strong smell or wear any heavy perfumes on the day of the event as this will affect the bear watching.
