DAY 1: ARRIVE – HANOI

Arrive in Hanoi.
Upon arrival, the airport staff will
assist your group within the airport terminal through immigration and customs
formalities.
A welcome banner
will greet your students and staff as they exit the arrivals hall to the
waiting coaches. Transfer by coach with welcome bottled water and refresher
towel into Hanoi. En-route our English-speaking guides will introduce them and
explain some background on Vietnam and Hanoi.
Upon arrival, please check-in to your
Hotel with time to freshen up.
Dinner will be served at a
local restaurant.
DAY 2: HANOI
Morning pick-up from your hotel and proceed for
city tour of Hanoi to explore the main historical sites including
the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh’s house, where he preferredto live
simply that are splendid reminders of the great man who once led this country.
You may enjoy your lunch at KOTO’s restaurant (on
direct payment).
After lunch, visit the Temple of
Literature and Tran Quoc Pagoda (Westlake area), Women's
Museum, Hoa Lo Prison, Ethnic Museum, Women's
Museum, and Hoa Lo Prison.
Tonight, you
will get to witness the Water Puppet Theatre; a colorful form of traditional
entertainment originating from the rice fields before dinner at local
restaurant to introduce the amazing Vietnamese Cuisine.
DAY
3: HANOI – LAO
CAI
This morning, you will be
taken on a one-hour cyclo tour, passing through the maze of lanes of
traditional wares in the Old Quarter.
Rest of the day is at leisure
(late check-out time from the rooms at 1800 hours).
Later,
you will be picked up and transferred to Hanoi Railway Station to connect your
train for Sapa.

DAY 4: LAO CAI – SAPA
06:00 Arrive in Lao Cai
Upon arrival, you will be met
and transferred to a local restaurant for breakfast.
Visit the colourful ethnic
markets before proceeding to your hotel.
Nestled
in the misty hills of northern Vietnam, Can Cau Market stand as a vibrant
testament to the region’s rich cultural tapestry. Located in the remote
district of Si Ma Cai, near the town of Sapa, this market is a bustling
gathering point for the ethnic minority communities that call this rugged
landscape home. Visiting Can Cau Market is like stepping back in time, into a
place where culture and commerce intertwine effortlessly, creating an
experience that is as rich in history as it is in color and life. It’s a
celebration of not just a market, but of the diverse communities that have, for
centuries, shaped the soul of Vietnam’s northern highlands.
On
a typical Saturday morning, the market comes alive, drawing together traders
and buyers from various ethnic groups, including the H'mong, Tay, and Dzay
people. The atmosphere is alive with the colors and sounds of these
communities, who arrive from their distant mountain villages, often on foot or
by horseback, dressed in their distinctive, handwoven garments. The women wear
intricately embroidered dresses, bright scarves, and silver jewelry, while the
men carry traditional tools, livestock, or baskets full
of goods for sale.
Later,
you will be transferred back to your hotel.
In
the afternoon, visit Silver
Waterfall, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains
and the lush green forests belonging to Hoang Lien National Park. Along the
way, you will experience a large farming area where local grows vegetable,
fruit and flower. Spend sometime at Silver Waterfall.
Next, you will continue for a few kilometres to the
gate of Hoang Lien National Park, where you will take a short walk access into
the jungle to visit the Love Waterfall. The area is covered by trees, lush
green forest, and a beautiful waterfall falling from rocky cove. Enjoy the great time by listening to the
sound of the waterfall, and relax your feet in to the cool water.
Leave the waterfall by walking back to the coach
and have a short drive to visit Haven Gate, the highest Pass in Vietnam. At the height of 2000meters above sea level,
you have a chance to enjoy the spectacular view of the Pass, mountains, and
valley below.
DAY
5: SAPA
Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and
driven towards Y Linh Ho, where your scenic trek will lead you down to the
Muong Hoa Valley festooned with lush, terraced paddy fields (September –
October). Depending on your health and time, there are options from 1.5 to 4
hours trek along the Hoang Lien Mountain Range with various photo stops before
heading to the Lao Chai Junction for a panoramic view of the Muong Hoa Valley.
Walk to Ta Van and return to Sapa by coach (difficulty level: 3/5).
In the afternoon, you will take a walk under the
shadow of pine trees of Suoi Ho area, as well as a short walk in the outskirts
of Sapa town.
DAY
6: SAPA – HANOI
– DANANG – HOI AN
Leave from your Hotel and visit a local school in
Sapa.
After this visit, you will be transferred to Hanoi
by coach; 318kms from Sapa. On arrival in Hanoi, proceed straight to Hanoi
Airport to connect your flight for Danang.

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to
your Hotel in Hoi An (approx. 30kms/50min).
DAY 7: HOI AN – MY LAI – HOI AN
Morning pick-up from
your hotel and proceed for a full day tour of My Laiin the central Vietnamese district. My Lai was a
watershed in the history of modern American combat and a turning point in the
public perception of the United States and Vietnam War. On March 16th
of 1968, the angry and frustrated men of Charlie Company (11thBrigade
of American Division) entered the village of My Lai. The ‘Search and Destroy’
mission degenerated into the massacre of 503 unarmed civilians including 182
women, 172 children, and the elderly. Ly William Calley ordered his men to
enter the village firing, and there were no reports of opposing fire.
You will explore the museum, interact with local
villagers, and learn about the history of the village. After the tour, you will
be transferred back to your hotel.
DAY 8:HOI AN
Morning pick-up from your hotel and proceed to
visit one of the city’s famous lantern workshops, where you will get an
opportunity to learn about the production process.
Afternoon is free at leisure.
DAY 9: HOI AN (B)
Full day is free at leisure.
DAY 10: HOI AN – DANANG – HO CHI MINH CITY
Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and
transferred to Danang Airport to connect your domestic flight for Ho Chi Minh
City.

Upon
arrival, you will be met and transferred to your Hotel.
Later, proceed
for an excursion of Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing complex of underground bunkers about 40 kilometers
northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, and near the Cambodian Border. The tunnel system
was commenced in the 1940's. During the US War, at one time the tunnels spread
out for 350 kilometers and were up to 7 meters deep. They served as the
shelter with storage facilities, and a secret mean of communication for the
guerrilla army. An ingenious system of concealed entrances kept the occupants
safe despite air attacks despite many efforts to penetrate the tunnel complex.
After the excursion,
you will be transferred back to your hotel.
DAY 11: HO CHI MINH CITY
Morning pick-up from your hotel and
proceed for a tour of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly called “Saigon”), a fast-paced
city with a unique mix of French colonial architecture, Chinese influences, a
modern entrepreneurial spirit, and numerous temples.
You will explore the highlights of the
city starting with an exploration of Ho Chi Minh City’s turbulent past with
visit to the Reunification Palace.
In the
afternoon, proceed for the Saigon Cookery Centre for a lesson in the wonderful
Vietnamese Cuisine. Learn to cook some
of the most popular Vietnamese dishes and enjoy your efforts for dinner from 1530
to 1930hours.
DAY 12: HO CHI MINH CITY
This
morning, visit the War Remnant Museum, the
Museum of thematic research, collection, storage, preservation and display of
the material, photographs, artifacts on the evidence of the crime and the
consequences of the war that the invasion force has caused to Vietnam.
The Museum stores more than 20,000 documents, exhibits and
films, in which more than 1,500 documents, artifacts, films have been applied
to introduce in eight thematic exhibitions frequently. In 35 years, the Museum
has welcomed over 15 million visitors at home and abroad. Currently with about
500,000 visitors each year, the War Remnants Museum is one of the only cultural
tourisms to attract high public credibility at home and abroad.
In the afternoon, visit Dam Sen Water Park.
In the
evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a popular local BBQ restaurant.
DAY 13: HO CHI MINH DEPARTURE
Today, you
will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Airport
to connect your international flight for onward destination.
