The Central Aquarium is the product of the redevelopment of two downtown Houston landmarks - Fire Station #1 and the Waterworks. This magnificent 6-acre dining and entertainment complex is a nearly 2,000 cubic meter underwater wonderland, home to over 300 aquatic species from around the world.

The redevelopment with a merger of two buildings approved in 2000, the Waterworks will be a habitat for sharks and rays while the main restaurant will be on the second floor of the former firehouse. which is now the Central Aquarium and Restaurant complex. The aquarium was opened in 2003 and is known as a multi-functional destination with ferris wheel, underwater carousel, white tiger exhibit, restaurant.

In the main building of the Aquarium are interesting exhibitions on different themes and visitors can interact here through the displays.

Louisiana Swamp : which offers visitors a tour of the swamps and coves of the Gulf Coast in the Louisiana Swamp, enjoying wild encounters with alligators, alligator-catcher turtles, crayfish, and leatherfish. slippery and bullfrog.

Shipwreck : experience the inside of the sunken ship of a 17th-century Spanish galleon and see the beautiful diversity of creatures the ocean has to offer, maybe you'll come across a giant octopus, eel wolf, clown fish, tang fish and grouper.

Rainforests : revelations about life within rivers and lush environments within tropical forests. Exploring the plants and poisonous species such as red-bellied piranha and freshwater stingray will give visitors a new perspective on the diversity of flora and fauna here.

Temple of Suken : The ancient legend of "El Dorado" (a city in the Amazon jungle of South America by the Incas that many explorers believe is a city containing a lot of gold) is revealed in Sunken Temple. Lionfish, tarantulas, scorpions and a 20-foot python living among the ruins of this failed Mayan civilization are also on display inside.

Gulf of Mexico : Visitors will sink to the seafloor and catch a glimpse of offshore rig divers in the Gulf of Mexico, sometimes catching a barracuda and mother shark swimming alongside snapper, redfish and more more.

White Tigers at Maharaja Temple : Possibly this is the first time visitors have seen an unusual animal, the white tiger, which was first found in central India in the 1940s. See four Gorgeous white tigers lounge and play in the ruins of the Maharaja temple and learn about the Downtown Aquarium's conservation efforts to help their cousins in the wild.
