The House of Hats

Located on the quiet 44 "Vladayska" street in the center of Sofia, House of Hats is where you can see hundreds of hats of all shapes and sizes, and here you can also wear them. hat that I like for hours on end and transform myself through each different hat.

Founded in 1997, House of Hats was a dream come true for Irina Sardareva and her now-stored home came to her randomly but as if destined. Before that, Maria Hadzhigenova, the wife of a former Minister of Agriculture owned the house. She, like Irina, was fascinated by the idea of becoming a hatmaker and when she built the house in 1929, she wanted to fulfill her dream. However, her husband did not approve of it and Maria left the house with her two children and went to Paris. Later, her dream did not come true and she never succeeded in the field that she loved. Therefore, that love was left to Irina Sardareva and it was she who created a new life for the house and the handmade hat industry.

Irina Sardareva was born on August 2, 1955 in Kiev, Ukraine. She graduated in microbiology from Kiev State University. During this time, she meets Petar Sardarev, a Bulgarian man. They got married and started living together in Bulgaria but she couldn't find a job matching her qualifications, and she worked as a chemistry teacher for 12 years. In 1992, with her husband, Irina founded the family fashion brand “PIGAS”, which stands for the names of the family members - Petar, Irina, Georgi and Alexander Sardareva and the main activity of the company is to produce and sell hats for women.

Irina's company is growing, gradually her hats become an integral addition to the collections of the most famous Bulgarian designers. In 1994, Irina began to conduct her own fashion shows. In 1997, she opened House of Hats, where she now crafts and sells her hats. Year after year hard work, combined with huge talent, Irina Sardareva has proven herself to be the best hat designer in Bulgaria and she deserves that title.

House of Hats now has 2 product showrooms and a basement where Irina's workplace and workshop are located. Visitors will feel impressed when entering Irina's world while surrounded by many beautiful hats. And here too, there are no limits to creativity. Hats suitable for fall, winter, or spring, all styles, all occasions are allowed here.
