Cam Ly Waterfall is one of the most famous natural attractions in Da Lat, offering both scenic beauty and cultural depth. For decades, it has been a must-visit stop for travelers exploring the “City of Eternal Spring.” Let’s discover the charm of this waterfall and the fascinating stories tied to it.
Cam Ly Waterfall Da Lat is located in Ward 5 (Cam Ly Ward), just about 2 km west of the city center. Its close location makes it convenient for visitors to combine with other sightseeing spots.
The name “Cam Ly” comes from the K’Ho language, named after a Lạch tribal chief who contributed greatly to developing and protecting this land. In Vietnamese, “Cam” means sweetness and “Ly” means flowing stream, evoking the image of the gentle Cam Ly stream.
Opening hours: Monday – Sunday: 07:00 – 17:00.
It is best to visit in the morning or early afternoon to enjoy the cool air and ideal lighting for images of Cam Ly Waterfall.
Although only about 10 meters high, Cam Ly Waterfall captivates visitors with its graceful water flow over large and small rocks, surrounded by pine forests and wildflowers.
In the rainy season, the water cascades powerfully, creating white foam against the lush greenery. In the dry season, the gentle stream reflects the golden sunlight, bringing a sense of peace.
For the K’Ho ethnic group — the indigenous people of Da Lat — Cam Ly Da Lat is a sacred site linked to traditional rituals such as rain-praying and thanksgiving ceremonies. This makes Cam Ly Waterfall both a tourist attraction and a living cultural space.
Stone-paved paths lead you closer to Cam Ly Waterfall, where you can breathe the fresh highland air and listen to the soothing sound of flowing water.
Images of Cam Ly Waterfall are a favorite among travelers. The white cascading water, green lawns, and sunlight filtering through the trees create a romantic and photogenic setting.
Around the waterfall, stalls sell handicrafts made by the K’Ho people, such as woven bags, musical instruments, and jewelry — perfect for learning about the highland culture and taking home unique souvenirs.
Near Cam Ly Da Lat, you can taste local Central Highlands dishes such as grilled wild meat, bamboo-tube rice, and ruou can (traditional jar wine).
