Roses line the shores of the town of Rapperswil-Jona located in the upper part of Lake Zürich, all kinds and colors of this beautiful flower bloom everywhere in Rapperswil-Jona and its three rose gardens. The town has a well-developed tourist infrastructure as the center of the area is easily accessible by public transport.

The town castles overlooking the blue lake are the landmark of Rapperswil-Jona. The castle hill offers panoramic views from the Glarus Alps all the way to the Zürich Oberland. Several churches, chapels and convents testify to the town's long past. Medieval old town with very little traffic – a protected historic site, with its lakeside promenade and diverse sightseeing possibilities make Rapperswil especially suitable for families with children.

In addition to the lake dam for walkways and railways, a wooden pedestrian bridge provides an additional path to town from the city side. This wooden bridge is also the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland. Rapperswil is also a starting point for regular train services on Lake Zürich, including 2 paddle steamers, to Zürich.

The area around Lake Zürich, with its numerous scenic spots, offers a wide range of exciting experiences for everyone. There is a children's zoo with animals at the zoo that children can pet.

In summer, a 700-meter toboggan run on the nearby Atzmännig is ideal for families. In the winter, Rapperswil has a ski area with a slope that is often visited by locals and families. On the other side of the lake, Pfäffikon has a bathhouse with a range of waterslides and a wellness spa.

Einsiedeln, the most important pilgrimage site in Switzerland with a famous monastery is also easily accessible from Rapperswil.
